With the F1-180-V5, Team Saxo rises to meet stiff competition by offering a modern Formula 1 chassis aimed at the "mainstream" market.
The vehicle has undergone revisions in many areas compared to its predecessor and reflects the technical standards of the 2026 season. At the same time, the kit remains significantly more affordable than many established competing models. Team Saxo focuses on achieving a balanced mix of performance, features, and price.
Key innovations in the V5 version include a completely redesigned, one-piece carbon chassis with increased rigidity, a revised front axle, and a redesigned rear pod assembly offering significantly expanded adjustment options. The narrower chassis reduces aerodynamic drag, while the new rear suspension allows for more precise tuning and smoother handling. Additionally, the chassis is designed to accommodate an optional mass damper to better absorb track irregularities.
Key specifications:
Scale: 1:10
Rear-wheel drive
Revised one-piece carbon chassis
Narrower chassis profile to reduce drag
Independent front suspension
Kingpin front axle
Adjustable front camber
Adjustable front caster
Revised rear pod assembly
Adjustable pod tilt
Rear spring layout for lower center of gravity and improved forward traction
Central tube damper for pitch control
Dual tube dampers for roll control
Ball differential
Aluminum motor mount/bulkhead
Carbon fiber steering components
Provision for an optional mass damper
Designed for use with low-profile servos, 2S shorty LiPo batteries, and 540-size motors.
The model can be run with either foam tires or rubber tires.
Supplied as an unpainted kit (electronics and body not included). Electronics, wheels, and a body shell are not included.
Front and rear wings are included, though their shape and color differ from the illustration.
Tip:
Team Saxo kits are supplied without greases or oils.
We recommend the following configuration as a baseline setup:
Differential: 3k
Side tube dampers: 50k
Center tube damper: 30k
This configuration is merely our recommendation for a successful start. The optimal setup may, of course, vary depending on the track, tires, and personal preference. Comparable greases and oils you already own may also be used. The only important thing is that the differential and dampers are properly lubricated and maintained.
